Shipping/Receiving Clerk/Lead

GENERAL STATEMENTS OF DUTIES: Processes, verifies, and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned)
      

  1. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  2. Processes all shipments through ERP and TMS systems and ensures accuracy.
  3. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  4. Manages dock personnel to ensure they are on task and following policy and procedures.
  5. Ability to operate a lift truck and use a hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to the storage or work area and vice versa.
         
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 2 years of experience with LTL & TL shipping/receiving processing. Thorough attention to detail. Ability to use a personal computer. Ability to read three and four-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract four-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 100’s and 1000’s. Ability to perform these units using American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
 
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
 
  • Experience: Two years minimum shipping and receiving processing.
       2 years of TMS experience
      SAP/ERP knowledge is a plus.
